Job Responsibilities:
The Regional Program Manager (RPM) for Latin America is responsible for a portfolio of 10-12 partners that are launching or scaling student loan products. These partners are typically, although not exclusively, microfinance institutions. Working as part of a team organized along geography, the RPM is responsible for selecting new partners, including financial due diligence, negotiating contracts and managing product development from start to finish: market research, product definition, pilot, and scale. The RPM will be responsible for managing in-country skilled volunteers in this process. In addition to managing his/her portfolio, the RPM contributes to defining and executing on Vittana’s overall strategy to expand student loan markets.
Experience and Abilities:

Job Responsibilities:
The Regional Program Manager (RPM) for Latin America is responsible for a portfolio of 10-12 partners that are launching or scaling student loan products. These partners are typically, although not exclusively, microfinance institutions. Working as part of a team organized along geography, the RPM is responsible for selecting new partners, including financial due diligence, negotiating contracts and managing product development from start to finish: market research, product definition, pilot, and scale. The RPM will be responsible for managing in-country skilled volunteers in this process. The program is designed as a three-year rotational experience where participants complete 2-3 assignments each lasting approximately 18 months. Participants experience global exposure, work-life balance in an open environment, and both formal and on-the-job training. Throughout their assignments, participants have opportunities to demonstrate leadership both within their business roles as well as within their MLDP responsibilities that help drive the success of the program. As a member of MLDP, you have visibility with senior managers in DuPont who serve as executive mentors within the program. Assignments are primarily located in Wilmington, Delaware, the site headquarters for several DuPont businesses. The client is an internal think-tank called Catalyst residing within Mars Inc., makers of products such as M&Ms, Snickers, Skittles, Pedigree dog food and Whiskas cat food. The goal of the project is research and develop an analysis of how other corporations inside and outside the fast moving consumer goods community utilize or otherwise support microfinancing as a creative way to help partners across their supply chains in less developed countries improve their quality of life while also enhancing their productivity / output. While we are most interested in West African case studies that will give us a better picture / roadmap of the “do’s and don’ts” of microfinancing at the farmer level in this region, we are open to microfinance lessons derived from case studies in other parts of Africa or elsewhere that would have potential application to farmers in West Africa.
